Russell began life as an engineer, but after a period of therapy at design school spent the next twelve years in the publishing industry, including six years as Art Director at HarperCollins. Since founding Emigraph Creative in 2002 he has worked with a diverse range of clients, from startups, not-for-profit organisations and government to multi-national corporations.
An experienced strategic and creative thinker as well as a skilled illustrator, his work shows commitment to effective, thought-provoking solutions to visual problem solving. He is passionate about helping people translate their business or organisation’s ideas into success in the marketplace, and strives to bring a sense of simplicity, clarity and authenticity to every project.
As creative director, Russell is hands-on in all projects, and also oversee a multi-disciplinary team of high-performing specialists partnering with developers, writers, photographers, film makers, illustrators and animators. This nimble solution keeps overheads low and costs scalable, making high-level design services accessible for non-profits and booming businesses alike.
When Russell is not thinking about design, he is rocking out with his band, or working on a never-ending house renovation.
